Crazy Tech Countdown: halloween robot special

Welcome to Crazy Tech Countdown, the weekly column where we scan the Internet every week to bring you the funniest and craziest stories on the web. Halloween is this week, so I thought we should have a halloween special, about robots. Because let’s face it, one day robots will take over the earth and eat human babies alive. Without further ado, let’s count ‘em down.

5. An awesome live performance, with a twist - Live dancing performances are often great to watch, especially if you have nothing better to do, but this was in Japan. You know what that means: a dancing robot! I have to say “she” actually dances better than some people I’ve met.

4. A bowling machine? - I was never that great at bowling. Sometimes a robot could give me a hand. I say why not?

Pancakes, anyone?  - Pancakes for breakfast, that’s a wonderful thing (as well as wonderfully tasty). Shall we hand that task over to mindless machines? Oh yes we should:

Don’t grip me bro! - Gripping isn’t a new thing for robots. But there’s no robot that grip and hold every object known to men, until now. Researchers at the University of Chicago have come up with a robot hand, or a plastic bag filled with coffee. By blowing air into it, and sucking it out, scientists have found the perfect gripping machine.

A robot nurse – Yeah, you read it right. This creepy robot nurse can smile and pretty much take care of patient relations. I don’t know about you, but would a robot nurse make you feel any better? Well, for one you’d pass out faster.

That’s it for this week guys. Don’t be scared though, I’m sure robots will use the technology we handed over to them to give us a quick and painless that. Other than hat, see you next week for more crazy stories!
